A Mile Marker Birthday

Okay, they have to come...mile markers.  There is no way to get around them on this road of life.  Today just so happens to be a mile marker birthday for our oldest son's, or does it sound nicer to say, "our first born's" thirtieth birthday. WOW, THIRTY!   Thirty years ago today, at 4:36 a.m., Son #1 came into this world weighing 9# 3 oz, and 21 inches long!  (I labored only 8 hours...my longest birth.) HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY SON! MAY YOUR DAY BE FILLED WITH LOVE AND ALL THINGS WONDERFUL! DADDY AND I ARE SO PROUD OF YOU AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH!  XO (To those of you that may have seen the post where I posted his birthday card a while back...he never did see it on-line)

Birthday #29

Today is our oldest son's twenty-ninth birthday!  Wow!  Twenty-nine!  I can remember when I gave birth to our 9# 3oz baby boy WITHOUT pain meds!  His labor was a total of eight hours from the time my water broke, IN PUBLIC, to his first breath!  (actually I felt a little cheated, all the anticipation of waiting for this little human to come into my life and BAM! over in eight hours!  and he was my longest labor!) Anyway... HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON #1! DADDY AND I ARE SO THANKFUL GOD GAVE US A PRECIOUS SON!   WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! We love you so much! xoxo <3 Momma and Daddy

ITT Graduation

Saturday was graduation for Son #1.  He, along with Daughter-in-love #1, graduated from ITT Technical Institute with an associates degree in Criminal Justice. I do not have pictures yet of the graduation.  But hope to have some to post soon!   Congratulations Son and Daughter-in-love #1! We are so happy for you!

The Last of the February Birthdays

Today is Son #1's birthday!  He came into the world 28 years ago today, at 4:36 am, weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces!  He was only 3 days over due and was my longest labor...eight hours! Hubby and I had gone out to eat with his folks.  (Hey Laurie, we were at the Red Coach Inn!)   I was not hungry and was making "railroad" tracks in my mash potatoes.  Not being hungry should have been a clue that something was not right! *smile*  After we were finished with our meal I started to get up and sat down very quickly!  As I stood my water broke!  The restaurant we were eating in was the busiest it had been in a long while!  And of course we were sitting very near the back!  Thank goodness I had my coat with me, but my shoes squeaked as a walked! They were leather and very, very wet! Needless to say my love for the wee one out weighed the humiliation I felt.  But I left a very big mess for the waitress! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON!...

Happy Birthday!

Today is Son #1's 27th birthday!  Am I that old?  Am I really old enough to have a twenty-seven  year old child?  It sure does not seem like it was that long ago that I brought home a 9 pound 3 ounce baby from the hospital! Every baby's birth is special, but nothing compares to the first!  Nothing prepares you for the first!  Son #1 was three days past his due date, but my water broke while Hubby and I were out having dinner with his parents!  It was cold, 36 degrees and raining!  (outside, not inside! ;-) )  Not to mention the restaurant was crowded and we were at the back!  I was soaked and my shoes had water in them!  The squeaked  as I walked!  At least I was only in labor for eight hours before I was able to hold my first child! Happy Birthday Son #1!! I love you and am so glad that God gave you to me!

Thankful Day 3

I am thankful that God has allowed me to be a mother.  Our oldest, Son #1, will be 27 in February.  Poor thing, like most first born  children, he must feel like a "lab" experiment! (smile) Seriously, I am thankful that he is such a forgiving son.  I have not been the perfect mother and he has loved me any way.  He and his wife have five beautiful children that on occasion we get to love, hug and kiss.  I love you Son #1 and I am so thankful for you!!!
