Graduation 2018

Where has the time gone?  My best intentions did not fly!  I guess crocheting, card-making, and grandchildren...not to mention playing taxi driver for two of our off-spring has not helped!   So today, I come to start again.   This evening, Daughter #5, (child #11), graduates from high school.  I can not believe it!  Her plans are to major in Criminal Justice at Bob Jones University this fall! CONGRATULATIONS DAUGHTER! WE ARE SO PROUD OF  YOU!!!!!

Double Birthday Post

Where has the time gone?  Summer had barely started the last time I posted and now here we are at the end of July and summer is fleeting!  It has been a very busy summer.  We have spent time as a family doing what we do best...being a family!  That ranges anywhere from babysitting the grands to just hanging out together!  Some of the nesters have gone a siblings home to spend a few days, others have gone to church camp.  Today we are celebrating Daughter #5!  She turns 14 today!!!  This is our little miss that was born with a club foot.  Her little toes pointed straight to her little nose.  She spent the first 3 1/2 years of her life seeing a specialist at the children's hospital  She never let her foot slow her down!  She has an amazing outlook on life and is a pure joy to be around! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER #5! WE HOPE YOUR 14th BIRTHDAY IS THE BEST! LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!! XOXO LOVE, DADDY AND MOMMA ...

Wonderful Wednesday

We usually do not babysit Granddaughter J on Wednesdays.  But her other grandma needed to switch days today.  So here are three scholars that abandoned their school work for a quick "niece" hug!  One can never get too many hugs!

MERCY! WHERE IS MY BRAIN??

Oh bother!  I can't believe I did not post the last of July's birthdays!  This post should have the date July 28, 2013!!!  So let's pretend!..... Last of July's Birthdays! July 28, 2013 Today Daughter #5 turns thirteen!  Where did the time go?  It seems like yesterday I was having my fourth C-section and seeing what was suppose to be our last child for the first time!  D#5 is a real blessing!  She is full of life and spunk.  She was born with a club foot and went through a lot to have it corrected.  She would love to be a ballerina but two things prevent it...1) we don't dance;  2) her foot would never be flexible for it.  But that has never stopped her from trying to move like a ballerina! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER! DADDY AND I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! YOU ARE SUCH A BLESSING!

Another Birthday!

Today is Daughter #5's twelth birthday.  She is our little one that was born with a club foot.  We used the  Ponseti Method to correct her foot.  It is a series of castings to correct the foot without having major surgeries.  We started castings when she was six days old.  The results were amazing. It was heart wrenching for this momma to watch as they manipulated her foot.  They forgot to tell me to bring a bottle to feed her while they worked on her to keep her calm.  Kind of hard to do with a nursing babe!  Plus, she wanted nothing to do with the bottle!  I ended up using the Suplemental Nursing System, SNS, attatched to my finger to feed her!  It worked!  The doctor was so impressed he said he was going to suggest it to his other moms who were nursing!   We are very grateful to God for the doctor who we had that was so awesome during the three years of correction!  (She had a few o...

Thankful Day 13

I am thankful for Daughter #5, who just happens to be child #11.  She is a very happy child and full of life.  She is a lover and not afraid to try something new.  That has been a plus for her.  She was born with a club foot.  A lot of babies born with a club foot is due to positioning while in the womb, you know a tight space for growing babe.  But her foot was formed that was from the beginning.  Being child #11 the doctor said she had more than enough room to move.  Her toes were pointed up toward her nose.  She was in a cast, changed and foot repositioned weekly, for about 13 weeks, starting at one week old.  We used the Ponseti method.  During that time she had a heal cord release because her foot was by that time pointed down like a ballerina.  She also ended up with a half tendon transfer in her foot to pull her foot around.  To top off the surgery list she had her tibia and fibula rotated.  Wi...

The Birthday Girl!!!

Believe it or not I have pictures!!!!!  Okay, the cupcake in the middle is my little cutie--Daughter #5!  You thought I was talking about the cupcake, eh?   Cupcakes have never been my favorite to bake, or any confections for that matter.  I much rather make a huge Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings that make a pan of brownies from a box.  I just don't like making sweets...weird, huh?  Anyway, back to the cupcakes, I always thought the liners were boring!  You know, plain pastel colors, yuk!  BUT I was so excited when I saw that Kroger's carried designer liners!!!!!  So I started making cupcakes for my nesters!  {i know, other places carry designer liners, but i never look any place else except Kroger's!} Now, the cupcake cake... I saw the pan at Michael's and just had to have it. Okay, that's not totally true, I thought it was adorable and wanted it. A friend gave me a 50% off coupon and I bought it last week.  Perfec...
