Still Celebrating in June

One thing about having a large family there is always something or someone to celebrate!  Some months there is more celebrating than others.  I have always tried to post the celebration on  the special day, but I am finding that I am stressing myself getting that done.  So, I figured it was time to play Elsa and "Let It Go". *smile*  (besides, believe it or not I only have one or two offspring who read my blog!) So the celebrations for this post: 1) Son #2 and Daughter-in-love #2 celebrated five years of marriage on June 20! HAPPY ANNIVERSAY! DADDY AND I PRAY THE NEXT FIVE YEARS ARE EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST FIVE! XO     2) Daughter-in-love #3 celebrated her birthday on June 21!   HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE! DADDY AND I TRUST YOUR DAY WAS AS SWEET AS YOU! XO   There is one more June celebration to come...stay tuned!

Another April Birthday

April is a busy birthday month for us!  Today we are celebrating the birthday of Son #2!  He turns 28 today!  Time goes by so fast.  I was babysitting Granddaughter J yesterday remembering when her daddy was two and a half!  Such a long time ago, but it only seems like yesterday!   HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON! WE TRUST YOUR BIRTHDAY IS SPECIAL IN EVERY WAY! XOXO

June Anniversary

Four short years ago today, Son #2 became one with the love of  his life.  It is so hard to believe that these four years have gone by so quickly.  Through this union they have given us a beautiful granddaughter.  What a joy it is to see our offspring in the role of husband and father!  I must say, we are very partial to our daughter-in-love.  I can say that she truly is a daughter! Happy Anniversary Jason and Ashley! We love you!   {yes, they do have REAL names!}

Happy Birthday to...

...Son #2!  Today is Son's 27th birthday!  It is so hard to believe that 27 years have passed since he came into the world.  It really only seems like yesterday.  It is a real joy to see all that he has accomplished.  It is even more of a joy to see him enjoying his own little offspring!    Happy 27th Birthday Son! Momma and Daddy love you and are very proud of you! XOXO   Picture of Son #2 and Daughter-in-love #2 with Granddaughter J on first birthday October 2012

OH MY!!!!!

We are into the 4th day of Bible school, and Daughter #1 and Grandson are home for a bit of a visit!!!!  So...I did not post something special yesterday and almost was ready to leave for VBS and realized that something else was almost missed!!!!!! Yesterday, Son #2 and his lovely bride, celebrated their third anniversary!!!!  Happy third Anniversary, you two!  Today, Daughter-in-law #3 is celebrating her twenty-something birthday!  Happy Brithday Daughter!!! There, I feel better and I still have ten minutes before I need to leave of the church!

A Quick Post

Just a quick post from Resurrection Sunday.  What a wonderful day!  If not for the cross and the resurrection there would be no hope of heaven.  I am thankful that the tomb is empty and that I serve a risen Savior! Thought I would share a four generation picture. Son #2, Granddaughter #1, Me, (Mammi) and my Daddy (Papa/Great Papa)  I know everyone says Son looks like me, but really he looks like my youngest brother and my mother. Seventeen of us joined my daddy at the church he attends along with my two brothers and the majority of their families.  That made 30 from our family all together for church service.  This is the church I grew up in and served as a Sunday School teacher.  (I started teaching when I was in eighth grade!) Sunday evening we were back attending our own church service.  I enjoy the church I grew up in, but the church where now attend and serve is home!  And home is one of the nicest places t...

Happy Birthday

Today is Son #2 26th birthday.  He was my shortest labor, 45 minutes. He came into this world nine days early weighing 9 pounds 1/2 ounce and 20 1/2 long. He and his wife have given us our first granddaughter.  This picture was taken when Granddaughter was just a wee babe, about 4 1/2 months ago!  Funny, I remember when he was, okay, not this small, but this age!  Seems like it was yesterday! Son, I love you!  I hope your  birthday is the greatest!  (I wish you would read this also!!) HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY! I LOVE YOU! XO

Weekend

Ahhh!  After cleaning the house and catching up on mountains of laundry, I was able to sit down and make a couple of cards.  I made one for Son #2, whose birthday is the fourth of this month.  I know I can show the card here safely because he never checks my blog! I really had fun doing this card.  I used the brayering technnique I learned at   Michelle Zindorf's  workshop.  Daughter-in-law #2 liked it and wanted to make Son #2 a card with Granddaughter #1's foot print. This was the first time she has brayered and I think she did a great job!  I did the embossing of the feet and set up the masking for the brayering.  Even though we I did not get the foot inked all the way around, I think it gave it the look of "foam" from the water!

Son #2 Christmas Picture

Thought I would share a couple of photo's of Son #2 and family.  We received these two pictures as a Christmas present!  We had a wonderful Chilson Christmas! (Although we were sad to be without two of the grandchildren and Daughter #1 and her hubby.) Hobby Horse Pictures

Not long ago, October 24, I posted some pictures of a rocking chair we were redoing for Son #2 and wife.  I also added a picture of the invitation for Daughter #1's baby shower and the adorable hobby horse's to put in the cupcakes.  Well, the horse pictures didnot make it up on the blog.  I guess I was to lazy busy to fix it.  So, I decided to fix that this evening! You  may not be able to see, but we textured them with an embossing folder. Some had googlie eyes and some were small puched dots. Here are a few of them.  I think we made close to 50! Son #2 helped us "cowgirls" work on these.  It was cute watching the big hands do the little tiny work.  Let's just say he gave up on the bridles!!!! We had fun making them!  It was a lot of hard work, but well worth it!

Thankful Day 4

I am thankful for Son #2.  He turned 25 in April.  He and his wife have recently given us our newest grandbaby, who was born last month!  Never  have I seen such a couple so in love with their newborn.  I really think he was floating on air when he came to tell us about his new love! I am thakful that he is family minded.  { Really, all the children are.  I guess when you grow with in a large family it is hard NOT to be family minded!}  I am thankful that he takes the time to play with his younger siblings and does not see them as a bother! Son, I am so thankful for you and I love you!
