November 2016

Well, the past couple months have brought many things.  Son #5 turned 20 in October.  The twins, Son #6 and Daughter #4, turned 18 this month and hubby turned 60!  In October we sat through tournaments in soccer and volleyball.  Our boys varsity soccer team did not make it to the final game.  But they gave the number one team a run for their money.  Our girls varsity volleyball team are state champs!  They fought hard and it paid off!  I will try to upload some pictures of my sport players another day.  I have to figure out uploading/downloading my pictures from my phone to the computer.  {while trying to add birthday pictures they ended up in different places!  I so need to take a class on blogging!( for many reasons! )  bear with me for the order in how they appear!} On a sad note, Daughter #2 moved to Georgia yesterday.  It was one she had been thinking on since August.  I was not surprised when she came home...

Happy Fall!

Autumn...my most favorite season.  Love the cool days with a bit of warm sunshine.  The smell of wet leaves...the feel of dry leaves crunching underfoot.  This month has been busy.  Each weekend has been filled with a youth or church activity for the teens and will continue to be that way until at least mid-October.  Then I think there is only one Saturday with nothing on the calendar until soccer and volleyball tournaments at the end of the month. We have celebrated three birthdays this month and our anniversary is the 24th.  Of course with youth activity and a grands birthday party our celebration of 33 years will have to wait until another day! I have a few pictures of cards to share... These were made for some college students in South Carolina. I try to send a card each month to keep the PO boxes dusted! :) This was a sympathy card.  The jar is stamped on the paper and then again on some clear thin plastic to make it app...

Early September Happenings

August faded away right into September with little change except turning the page of our calendar.  The temperature remained high 80's to low 90's and high humidity.  I know, not even close to some parts of our country.  But hot and humid is hot and humid no matter what.  I remember when we lived in the Verde Valley in Arizona 28 years ago, everyone said it was a much better climate because the air was so dry.  One hundred thirteen is hot with or without humidity! Daughter #6 turned 14 on the eighth.  That's my little 2 pound babe!  She is such a sweet young lady.  She has a heart for helping and does NOT like the color pink! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART! May your 14th year be a year of many celebrations! Daddy and I love you BIG! xo (If I ever get a chance to get my computer running smoothly I will post pictures!)

End of June

Today ends June.  It has been a quick month.  It has had ups and downs.  But through it all we have been blessed. Grandson B turned 5 on the 25th.  We celebrated on the 27th and had a wonderful time! Late Birthday Post

This month had really thrown me.  I feel like I am so far behind in everything...that includes a birthday post for Grandson K. Grandson K turned 2 on April 21, which would also have been my precious mothers birthday.  We celebrated Grandon K' s big day on Saturday, 25 April. HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY GRANDSON K! We love you so much!!! <3 Paw Paw and Mammi

First Day of Spring and First Spring Birthday

Seasons come and seasons go.  With the changing of seasons some of us grow a year older!  Son-in-love #1 turned 29 yesterday.  He is the joy of Daughter #1's life and the father of Grandson E.  He has been a joy to us and is willing to help out however needed. WE LOVE YOU SON AND ARE PROUD TO HAVE YOU IN THE FAMILY. WE HOPE YOUR 29th BIRTHDAY WAS A  VERY SPECIAL DAY!!! Love, Daddy and Momma

A Mile Marker Birthday

Okay, they have to come...mile markers.  There is no way to get around them on this road of life.  Today just so happens to be a mile marker birthday for our oldest son's, or does it sound nicer to say, "our first born's" thirtieth birthday. WOW, THIRTY!   Thirty years ago today, at 4:36 a.m., Son #1 came into this world weighing 9# 3 oz, and 21 inches long!  (I labored only 8 hours...my longest birth.) HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY SON! MAY YOUR DAY BE FILLED WITH LOVE AND ALL THINGS WONDERFUL! DADDY AND I ARE SO PROUD OF YOU AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH!  XO (To those of you that may have seen the post where I posted his birthday card a while back...he never did see it on-line)

A Double Birthday

Son #7 and I share a birthday, 39 years apart!  Today we are celebrating the 12th birthday of Son #7!  My youngest man is growing up way to fast, I know, I always say that!  He is fun, sensitive, a prankster, and thinks outside of the box!  He keeps us on our toes since he is one of three children that think way deep!   HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON! YOU ARE A PRECIOUS SON AND WE ARE SO GLAD GOD GAVE YOU TO US!   LOVE, DADDY AND MOMMA   No cake for this young man!  His new favorite dessert is Arctic Blasters Orange Ice Cream bars.  His new collecting hobby is glass soda bottles.  He asked for IBC Cream Soda for his drink and Extreme Sour Warheads for his candy. His gift was a Nerf Zombie Strike.  Our family loves Nerf gun wars.  (He wanted a BB gun, but living in the city with a busy road behind us it did not seem like a good idea for an adventuresome young man.) (Sorry, no pictures of the birthday M...

Grandson E Turns Three

Okay, this post is very, very late!  Grandson E turned three on January 15th and I am just now posting it!  I feel really terrible for waiting to post his birthday!  I will not make excuses because it does not change the fact I missed the date! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDSON E!! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO OUR FAMILY. PAWPAW AND I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH! HAPPY THREE! LOVE, MAMMI (I have pictures of his birthday I will post when I get to my computer!)

Final December Birthday

Today is the final birthday for our family for 2014.  We celebrate Daughter #1's 26th birthday!  She has been such a joy to our family and is fun to be around.  She has been so good about taking the younger nesters to her home to spend time with them.  She took Daughter #7 home with her yesterday since the teens are gone to a winter camp in Southern Indiana.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER! WE LOVE YOU AND ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! MAY YOUR DAY BE FILLED WITH BUBBLES AND BALLOONS! XO   LOVE, DADDY AND MOMMA

December Birthday

Today we are celebrating Daughter #7's 10th birthday!  WOW!  How is it possible that all my children are now in the double digits?  Our tiny preemie is turning into a beautiful young lady.  She is a corker.  She comes up with some pretty witty sayings that have us laughing and repeating them at random! Store bought icing is NOT a good icing for writing, but was a yummy addition to a cookie cake! D#7 has loved elephants for as long as I can remember.  So when I made this card at a card club in the spring I knew I had to save it for her birthday! The only downside was she was not allowed to go through my card box to look at my cards.  So she "bugged" me quite often about her card in the box!  It became a fun little game!   She finally got an Aristocat watch that she has been dreaming over since early summer!   A dear friend bought and American Girl riding outfit for her Jubilee doll.  (D#7 saved her mo...

A Double Birthday Celebration!!

Today we celebrated Son #6 and Daughter #4, who just happen to be children #9 and #10, sixteenth birthday!  Where does the time go?  It seems like yesterday these two were just babes snuggling together in the womb and then in a crib together!  They certainly are a double blessing. HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY SON! YOUR DADDY AND I LOVE YOU AND ARE SO THANKFUL FOR  YOU! XO   HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER! DADDAY AND I LOVE YOU AND ARE SO THANKFUL YOU! XO   My this year be a wonderful year and full of memories! Love, Daddy and Momma      (one of these days I will get some birthday pictures posted!)

Yes, Another Birthday Post

Today marks the last of the October birthdays in our family!  It is a mile marker birthday.  Son #5 turns eighteen today!  That means I now have eight adult children--being eighteen and older.  Eighteen begins a whole new chapter of life.  It is the chapter on becoming a young adult.  In this chapter you register to vote, register for selective service, and now get to sign important papers, you know, doctor office, dentist, etc.  I wonder if our nesters knew just how much responsibility came with this "magic number" they may have not been so eager to grow up.   Back to the post: Son #5 is one of jokers.  He loves to make others laugh.  He is a great help and a hard worker.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON! MAY YOUR BIRTHDAY BRING YOU MANY HAPPY MEMORIES! DADDY AND I LOVE  YOU SO MUCH! XOXO

Late October Birthday Post

Oh my!  This birthday post is so very late!  Granddaughter J turned three on the 14th of October!  We celebrated her birthday party the weekend before.  She seems so grown up.  Her vocabulary is way above her three years-just like her daddy, Son #2, was at that age.  She can tell you a line of stories, although her daddy has her beat on his "California" stories!!!  (The child has never set foot in California!  Where his stories came from is beyond me!) Anyway...Sorry Granddaughter J!  Mammi is behind in posting your birthday !   HAPPY THIRD BIRTHDAY GRANDDAUGHTER! PAW-PAW AND MAMMI LOVE YOU SO MUCH! XOXO

October

This October seems to be filled with many things.  But today, I want to celebrate the birthday of Daughter-in-love #1!  We are so blessed to have her in our family.  {She is momma to three of our grands:)}  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER-IN-LOVE #1! WE LOVE YOU AS OUR OWN AND ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU AS PART OF OUR FAMILY! WE HOPE YOUR DAY IS FILLED WITH MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES! XO LOVE, DADDY AND MOMMA

Late Posting of Another September Birthday

Okay, I am going to have to work on post headings for birthdays.  We have several months that we celebrated multiple birthdays and I fear that the headings are bit on the 'blah' side! So, with that out of the way... On Friday, the 19th of September, Daughter #2, who just happens to carry the title of Child #6, celebrated her 22nd birthday!  I remember being  in labor and watching the Miss America pageant.  Our little Miss America was born just four minutes before midnight.  It has been a wonderful 22  years!   HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER #2! YOU ARE A BLESSING AND DADDY AND I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! WE TRUST YOU  HAD A SPECIAL DAY! XO <3 MOMMA

September Birthday

Today we gained another teenager!  Daughter #6 turns 13 today!  I can remember the day she came into our lives...a tiny baby weighing only 2 pounds 9 ounces!  We watched a miracle before our eyes as she continued to grow outside of the womb.  It was not without many setbacks and tears.  Today she is a healthy young lady and we are so thankful to our Lord for walking us through the days of a preterm baby!   HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER! DADDY AND I LOVE YOU! XOXO

August Birthday

Late again in posting!!  Yesterday, August 6, Son #3 turned twenty-seven!  It seems like a life time ago, but it seems as if it was only yesterday.  Now he is grown and raising his own family.        HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON! DADDY AND I LOVE YOU AND HOPE YOUR BIRTHDAY WAS SPECIAL!!!   LOVE, MOMMA
