Happy Birthday to...

...Daughter #3!  Today is her 19th birthday.  She is our 7th child and my first of seven C-sections!  (Thank you very much, kiddo!)    I know, I always say, "Where has the time gone?"  But times goes so quickly.  Each child is so different and I must say she has the most spunk out of them all!  She is our child that thinks any hour before noon is too early to be up.  But she is the one who is willing to stay at her siblings homes and babysit for several days--giving up sleep if necessary--to help out.      HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER! YOU ARE OUR "MACKIE-DOODLE-SWEETHEART" AND WE LOVE YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH! WE PRAY YOUR DAY IS EVERY BIT AS WONDERFUL AS YOU!   XOXO Love, Momma and Daddy

Pictures

I was looking at some pictures the other evening from Daughter #3's graduation in May.  It still is so hard to believe that HALF of our children have graduated! I have a few pictures from that evening I thought I would share! D #3 and Hubby So proud of D #3 Me and D #3   "YES! We did it!" So proud of all my girls! I am one lucky momma!

She Did It and So Did We

Graduation is finished!  Tuesday evening Daughter #3 graduated and did a wonderful job.  I cried!  Our graduates are required to give a speech.  This is very hard on some of them, especially if they are not one who like to get up in public and speak.  And Daughter #3 is one of "them".  But she did great!  I knew she was nervous, but you could not tell by the way she spoke and poised herself!  Today we celebrate again with her open house, then over to Son #2's home for a cookout! Yesterday was our last day of school!  Yes!  All exams are finished and graded!  Everyone was promoted to the next grade!  So next year we will have only 7 scholars in school. Grades 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, two in 9th , and 11th!  Half-way!!!!!  Yesterday I put all of the second semester of quiz and test reviews into storage and put in place the first semester of the next school year!  It is a very big job and takes a few hours so it organ...

It's Almost Here!

Tomorrow night is the graduation ceremony for Daughter #3!  She is so excited and we could not be happier for her!  She is very nervous about giving a speech and has tried to get out of doing it! *smile*  I am sure she will do fine!  Now, if I can get through the ceremony without crying!!!!! It has been a busy day with finals and studying for finals with rest of the scholars!  I am so tired that I just could sit and cry!  I am sure rest of the week will be the same with making sure the everything is ready for Daughter #3's open house on Saturday and then going over to Son #2's home for a family cookout!  The open house and cook out are very simple but the stress in just getting to that point is a bit overwhelming right now. So, happy thoughts for tomorrow!  Only 7 more scholars and 10 years to go!

It's Coming!

Like it or not Daughter #3 is graduating!  Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that she has almost completed her high school studies.  I don't like the fact that she has grown up!  It seems like only yesterday she was coming home from the hospital and a new born baby! Daughter #3's graduation cap, gown, and tassel came by Fed Ex today!  (why are they so fast?  did they HAVE to ship so quickly?  does childhood pass quickly because it is delivered by Fed Ex?  do they not know that this momma wants to hang on to her baby girl just a wee bit longer?) Here are some pictures of the happy occasion!  (she could not quit grinning all afternoon and evening!)   Practicing "being finished"! Graduation is set for the 17th of May!  It will be here in a heart beat!  I am so happy for her! This will be her moment to shine!  "Daughter, Daddy and I love you and are so proud of all that you have accompl...

Daughter #3

Today Daughter #3 turns eighteen!  I can hardly believe it! (of course, I know I say that with every birthday, but it doesn't seem possible!) D #3 was my first c - section baby and caused rest of my precious babes to born by c-section.  She also is the "last" of the "first half" of my children--aka "the big kids" .  She is child number 7, so it is now official that HALF of my children are adults or should I say adult age.  This also means in two months she will graduate from highschool and HALF of our children will be out of school.  Ah, but she is the FIRST to be completely home educated! (she always wanted to be a first!)   HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER! DADDY AND I LOVE YOU AND ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU! XO   "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!"

Happy Birthday Daughter #3!

Today is Daughter #3's birthday.  She is now seventeen!  As she put it, "I am almost done with my teen years."  Hey, when did that happen? Daughter #3, who is also child #7,  is full of spunk and fire.  Once her mind is set it is almost impossible to change it.  That can be a terrific quality if used in the right way. :)  She is a real blessing and a joy.  I know God has a wonderful plan for her life.  I am excited to see what He has planned and watching her bloom and blossom into that wonderful young woman! Happy Birthday to our sweet Princess!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Thankful Day 9

I am thankful for Daughter #3.  She was my first C-section and is child number seven.  She is truly a middle child.  If you have ever studied birth order or are a middle child you can relate to her.  She is my child that likes to cook.  One of her favorite dishes to make is fried onions.  She gives them just the right spices!  We never  have enough!  She has been a huge blessing to our youth pastor and wife on Sundays.  She watches their young son's during choir practice and any youth functions we have after church. Daughter, I love you and am very thankful for you!

Time Flies...

Well, I guess it has been a 'few' days since I have posted.  My days have filled with being wife, mommy, teacher, taxi driver, problem solver, seamstress, activities director, etc.  There are not enough hours in the day to get done what needs to be done.  I find myself often saying I need 48 hours to get done what I need to do in 24 hours!  Hmm...then it hit me today, I am not content!!!   In Philippians 4:11, Paul talks about being content.  The second part of the verse reads. "...for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."  I guess I have not learned to be content!  I want to be content, sometimes I think I am, but it is hard! My days are spent serving others...yes, I know, as a child of God, follower of Christ that is what I am to do.  J.O.Y.  J=Jesus--He is first, O=Others--family, friends, Y=You (well, me). No surprise in serving when being a wife and momm...

The Longest Day of the Year...First Official Day of Summer

It has been a busy, but productive day.  I have washed 5 loads of laundry, {still not finished!} and made a set of  twelve cards.  So cute! {not the laundry, the cards!}  But the first day of summer brings a family tradition...besides our DIL birthday!  Every year we pull our a couple of eggs to stand on end.  So much fun!  I was the first one to get it to stand on end!  Yay me!  See!  It really does stand by itself!!! The egg originally was Daughter #3's egg, but she was having trouble.  She got another egg out a bit later and got it to stand and it is still standing 6 hours later!!!  I'll let it stay until it falls. As for my egg, Daughter #2 accidentally knocked it over before supper.  We got it up, but it got knocked over and while trying to upright it it ended up with a nick in the bottom!
