Picture Time!!!

I love it when our family gets together.  We are noisy, well, down right loud at times.  The house if full of fun and chaos, but I love it.  It is on a rare occasion that we get to enjoy every one at the same time.  Hubby's birthday celebration was one of those rare occasions.  He turned 58 on the 13th of November and we had a dinner to celebrate the following Saturday!  This time instead of trying to get all of together in ONE photo I asked to at least get each family's picture.  I honestly think it is easier getting everyone in ONE photo than trying to round up each family. (I know it is certainly easier to post one picture!) Family Picture and Birthday Celebration

This evening we celebrated a belated birthday party for Grandson C's first birthday.  He turned one on September 18, but we are just now getting around to celebrating with his party.  I know I still need to blog and post pictures from other birthday celebrations, but since the entire family was present for a family picture, including my favorite sister (who happens to be my only sister), I really wanted to get this posted.     It was crazy, loud, and chaotic at times tonight, but we had the best time.  You should have seen us after the sugar rush of ice cream and cake!   Below are the lyrics to a song I use to hear while I was growing up.  A man from the church I grew up as a child use to sing this.  It always was a blessing to hear him sing it.  He and his wife had 5 children and I babysat for them often.  I always wanted a little family like theirs and God blessed me and Hubby many times over!  (Corey...

Field Trip

Hubby took a vacation day on Friday of last week.  So we decided that it would be a great day for a field trip.  We had test and quizzes that were scheduled and I do not like to postpone the T's and Q's.  So we had Bible class and then everyone completed the T/Q's for the day.  After a quick bite to eat we headed off on our field trip---a cemetery!  Creepy, crazy, I know, but we like roaming cemetery's!  We went to Crown Hill Cemetery.  The cemetery has over 200,000 people buried in it.  But it is also the cemetery where several famous people are buried.  We explored graves from soldiers, public servants, authors, poets, governors, vice presidents and a president.  Not to mention well known business owners and a well know bank robber!  Yep!  We covered a lot of history on Friday!    The photos are from Daughter #2.  I think she did a very good job!       ...

Birthday "Boy" Picture Updated!

Okay, I found a newer picture of my daddy to post for his birthday!  I actually had to "borrow" it from my youngest brother. AGAIN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY! WE LOVE YOU!     Isn't he so handsome!  I love him so much!

June Birthday

Today my daddy celebrates his 84th birthday! Not only is he my daddy , but he is Papa to our 14 children and eight grandchildren!   "Papa" with Son # 7 and Daughter #7 (Oct. 2012)   HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY! WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! xoxo

"Yes, They are All Mine...

...and  believe me, sometimes it's no picnic!"  I have a picture to share!!!!!  Grandson's first birthday was 15 January, but we celebrated it 26 January.  Below is a picture of my wonderful family!!!  My father, sister, and brother-in-law are also in the picture.  {i have no idea how to do fun little drawings and arrows on the picture to point them out! so, you will have to "find" them, kind of like "Where's Waldo", but in this case it's "Where's Papa King, Aunt Amy and Uncle Bill".} We had so much fun!  This is the first time we have been to Daughter #1's home since she moved in a month ago.  Love the old homes, but not the "spooky" basement! *smile*  (sorry picture goes into sidebar, but a mega family sometimes requires mega space!) I decided to start "naming" our grands with their inital.  So this was Grandson E's big day to shine!

Welcome 2013!

Our New Year started off saying goodnight to two of our married children and their families as they headed west and north west to their own homes, and  putting rest of the nesters to bed.  We had a great night eating chili and playing games.  (Yes, we even played "Spot It", but did not break a table this time!)  One son and family was not able to come because of work, and another son came over for a bit but left early.  Daughter-in-love was not feeling well so she stayed home. It is always sad to see a year end.  I think back at what was and was not accomplished.  But I look forward to the year ahead and what it may bring.  I have heard of several friends that have taken a word or theme for the year.  While thinking and praying about it, I felt like the word "kindness" was one we needed to work on together as a family.  Sometimes we can get so self-centered that we forget about others around us.  So as a...

July

Only s ix days into the month and it feels like its been forever!  Of course the extreme heat and heat index has not helped!  We have central air, but cannot get our temp to go lower than 82 degrees, that is with the unit set on 70 and fans running!  Here is a quick re-cap of the month:: 1st~~Daughter #1, Son-in-law #1 and Grandson meet us at church a few minutes after nine to say goodbye.  It was so sad!  Goodbyes in our home take a few minutes, even if you are going to the grocery.  You know, gotta hug and kiss them all, some need it twice!  Now...when you are going to be gone for a LONG time, goodbyes take even longer!  I heard we had some of the church members in tears as they watched us in the parking lot!  (why does it still hurt to think about it?) 2nd~~Decided to remove 2011/12 school material from "lockers" and get the new ones in!  AHHHH!!!!!  I ended up in tears after about 4 1/2 to ...
