A Busy Life

Wow!  I am so far behind in keeping up my blog!  So much has happened since my last post.  I have been keeping busy with family, ministry, and my hobby/ies! An elderly friend of mine needed some extra attention and help.  God has been so good to allow me to help her out and see to some of her needs. My father, 89, fell towards the end of July.  He was down about 3 hours before I found him.  We are very blessed he was not seriously hurt, but did require a hospital stay and some rehab.  Our second daughter has moved back to Indiana and is living with my father.  What a God-send!  We are so blessed that she was sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and moved home.  Although we had many safety measures in place for my father, it only takes one little misstep.  I am happy to say that he is much stronger than before!  We have added a few more safety measures and our hope and prayer is to keep him living as independent as po...

Sad Turned Happy

Six years ago today my family's heart was broken by the death of my mother.  Today turned happy because Grandbaby number 11 was born!  Grandson W was born at 12:38 pm, weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces, and 22 1/2 inches long!  Daughter #1 and babe are doing well!!!!! (pictures will follow later once the parents have a chance to brag on their own!!!)

September Happenings

September is in full swing!  September 8, 2017, was Daughter #6, child #12, 16th birthday!!!!!!  She looks pretty amazing for being a 2# 9oz. preemie!!!   D#6 is the one on the end in the front row with the long hair. (right side of picture, left side of picture?? I ALWAYS confuse those two when looking at something!!!!) Daughter #7, child #14, the one on the opposite end in front row, broke her arm the middle of August at a youth activity.  She had just completed three days of school and was one week from her first volleyball game!  So she is missing out on volleyball, although her coach made her the manager.   Daughter #2, child #6, came home for a visit the middle of the month!  She lives down south.  We were able to spend her 25th birthday with her!  We had ALL of the family at our home for dinner!  We number 32!!!!!  My sister joined us as she is the kids second Mom, so she brings the count to thirty-three! ...

Funny...Or Not....

This morning I was feeling a little winded and such after doing some laundry, so I decided to check my blood pressure...something I have not done in a long time.  My blood pressure was 151/89.  Not sure if that is high or "what", I put the numbers in my phone to check.  It's "HIGH-NORMAL"...okay, I need to work on that.  I continued scrolling down on the screen to read more on the upper and lower values of blood pressure and I came across an advertisement.......for Batesville Monument with a picture of a grave headstone.  I am thinking...NOT FUNNY!  Now my heart is pounding, I am having a hard time catching my breath, and I feel all around awful!  Anxiety?....you bet!  This was not a way to start my day! So.....I am going to have to make some changes....not sure what to do, but something has got to change!!!!!

Ahhh...August

We have slipped into another month and I am afraid it is going to take wings and fly!  Yes, only four days into the month, but it will be Labor Day before we know it. Well....this post is a milestone...number 400!  I know my blogging has been lacking.  The past twelve months have been rough, trying and faith stretching.  Today Hubby started a new job.  He has been unemployed since mid-August 2014.  He taught an English class and did a bit of substitute teaching the second semester of the 2014/15 school year at the Christian academy that is a ministry of our church.  His new job...teaching at the Christian academy again!  He is not full-time, but is there for all but one class and homeroom!  It has been an answer to prayer. I want to share some cards that I  have been working on.  I have heard that I never take pictures of what I create!  That's not totally true, I do take pictures...most of the time.  Okay, s...

July Happenngs

What a month!  This July has flown by so quick.  It is hard to believe it is almost gone. While we did not get to vacation as a family, we kept busy.   The first full week our teens enjoyed six days at camp CoBeAc in Michigan.  Our youngest enjoyed five very full days at Camp Assurance in Illinois the second full week.  Last week two of our young adults enjoyed three days at Eljiah' s Harbor in Tennessee with the single adults from our church, while our oldest nester in the house enjoyed a full day canoeing and relaxing in the water in southern Indiana.  However, the swimmers ear afterwards was less than fun. Yesterday Hubby and four of our adult/young adult sons went to see the Manchester United soccer team play in Chicago.  They got home about 4 o'clock this morning.  Of course that means yours truly did not sleep well.  I was up about five times from 11:00 last night until 3:50 this morning.  I finally decided to stay up and get ...

Chit-Chat

I have a few pictures to share of some recent happenings at our home. Here is the card I created for Granddaughter A's 5th birthday.  I added some bling to a couple of the dots AFTER I took this picture!  I love this set, it is a Stampin' Up set and the can be used in a couple of different ways.  For Valentine's Day I used this same set to make a crown.  (forgot to take a picture!)        Last Saturday we had all five grandsons!  I guess it was a grandson weekend!  I was busy snapping photos but forgot to get one of all five together!            I mentioned in a previous post (here)   about feeling overwhelmed in almost every area of life. Here is something I have been working on with making a schedule for our family.  This is a master schedule piecing together the days activities.  I will post more about this when I have more...

Not Cold and the Flu Bug

Yesterday I went to get a bowl of cereal for breakfast.  Mmm...not so good when you take a bite and find your milk is not cold for being in the back of the icebox.  So I opened the freezer and sure enough behind "things" there was some ice build up.  Remove the ice and presto your icebox starts cooling again, right?  No!  So I got out my handy, dandy heat tool for embossing cards and used it to melt a new layer of ice.  I tried through out the day to convince myself that things were starting to cool off, but the convincing did not help the situation.  I took out the perishables that could be frozen and placed them in the freezer.  By the time I went to bed I was praying that the door being shut for a long period of time would help in the cooling process. This morning it was evident that everything in the icebox needed to be tossed.  (Not so good when you just went grocery shopping a several days earlier.)  We called a re...

July

Only s ix days into the month and it feels like its been forever!  Of course the extreme heat and heat index has not helped!  We have central air, but cannot get our temp to go lower than 82 degrees, that is with the unit set on 70 and fans running!  Here is a quick re-cap of the month:: 1st~~Daughter #1, Son-in-law #1 and Grandson meet us at church a few minutes after nine to say goodbye.  It was so sad!  Goodbyes in our home take a few minutes, even if you are going to the grocery.  You know, gotta hug and kiss them all, some need it twice!  Now...when you are going to be gone for a LONG time, goodbyes take even longer!  I heard we had some of the church members in tears as they watched us in the parking lot!  (why does it still hurt to think about it?) 2nd~~Decided to remove 2011/12 school material from "lockers" and get the new ones in!  AHHHH!!!!!  I ended up in tears after about 4 1/2 to ...
