Chilson Family

Daughter #2 told me about a couple of comments made on Facebook about some "children's books".  You may have heard them, Tarzan running around half naked, Cinderella comes home at mid-night, Pinnochio lies all the time, Aladdin is the king of thieves, Batman drives 200 mph, Sleeping Beauty is lazy, and Snow White lives with seven guys, "We shouldn't be surprised when kids misbehave, they get it from their story books." Here was her reply to one of them: "Tarzan saves the primate families Cinderella learned how to cook, clean, sew, serve, etc. (and in the sequels, she doesn't desert her family even though she's married to Prince Charming. She knows that family is so important, not matter what ... KIND of family you have.) It has been a busy, but productive day.  I have washed 5 loads of laundry, {still not finished!} and made a set of  twelve cards.  So cute! {not the laundry, the cards!}  But the first day of summer brings a family tradition...besides our DIL birthday!  Every year we pull our a couple of eggs to stand on end.  So much fun!  I was the first one to get it to stand on end!  Yay me!  See!  It really does stand by itself!!! The egg originally was Daughter #3's egg, but she was having trouble.  She got another egg out a bit later and got it to stand and it is still standing 6 hours later!!!  I'll let it stay until it falls. As for my egg, Daughter #2 accidentally knocked it over before supper.  We got it up, but it got knocked over and while trying to upright it it ended up with a nick in the bottom! 

Today is Daughter in law #3 birthday!  She and Son #3 are on a seven day cruise. {not for her birthday, it just happen to be the same time!}  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER!!! 

Today is Son #2 and wife's second anniversary!  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! This is their engagement picture. They look the same, except Son #2's hair is a bit  longer on top, and Daughter in law has the baby glow  in her face now.

Just a quick Happy Father's Day to my dad!  {i know...he doesn't have a computer} But still felt like I need to post! I also want to say Happy Father's Day to my hubby!  He has been a terrific, godly example for our fourteen children and our four children who were brought into our family by marriage!!! Also, Happy Father's Day to Son #1, and 'soon to be father' to Son #2, and Daughter #1's hubby! 

Big Birthday!  Son #4 turns 21 today!!!!  So hard to believe!  This is the child {fifth child} I was sent home from the hospital with because my labor stopped as soon as we arrived!  I informed the nurse that Hubby had gotten a paycheck that day and I was going to eat the biggest mexican meal I could order at Chi-Chi's and then spend rest of the paycheck at Wal-Mart. Guess that was enough to convince her to convince the doctor to let me stay.  I delivered him less than an hour later!!!!

Yesterday was my father's 82nd birthday!  Happy Birthday Daddy!  My parents do not have a computer, but I still feel the need to wish him the best!  He is the 'almost' full time caregiver to my mother who has been bed-ridden for several years.  My younger sister and a team of nurses fill-in as the other part of the full time caregivers.

Son #3 passed test on Monday and is now a CRT--certified respiratory therapist.  Exciting!  He will be taking in test(s) in the very near future for his RRT---registered respiratory therapist! Yesterday, he and is bride of almost three years ,signed papers for their first home!!!  Exciting!! Today, well, I haven't talked to him. :-(  Oh well, he needs to work to pay for that new home!

... Baby is a GIRL!!!  Son #2 and wife found out this morning!  It will be the first-born granddaughter on both sides, and first granddaughter to carry the Chilson last name!! 

Okay, I am "trying on" a new blog design.  Not sure if this is 'me' or not, but will sport it for a few days and see.  I think it is a little too bright for my personality!
