Early September Happenings

August faded away right into September with little change except turning the page of our calendar.  The temperature remained high 80's to low 90's and high humidity.  I know, not even close to some parts of our country.  But hot and humid is hot and humid no matter what.  I remember when we lived in the Verde Valley in Arizona 28 years ago, everyone said it was a much better climate because the air was so dry.  One hundred thirteen is hot with or without humidity! Daughter #6 turned 14 on the eighth.  That's my little 2 pound babe!  She is such a sweet young lady.  She has a heart for helping and does NOT like the color pink! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART! May your 14th year be a year of many celebrations! Daddy and I love you BIG! xo (If I ever get a chance to get my computer running smoothly I will post pictures!)

"Weird..."

It is 6:30 in the morning.  All six scholars are up, beginning their third week of school.  All six are doing school.  Three have been up for a little over an hour. Hubby and Daughter #2 have been up for at least thirty minutes preparing for work.  Daughter #6 realizes that the house is as quiet as it is when we all are sleeping.  She's right....weird. On a different thought....since I am the keeper of the clock in the morning, getting everyone up at their appointed time....does that make me a "time lord"?   (i am guessing if you are a 'doctor who' fan you will get it) :) It is going to be a great day!!!! *big smile* ( okay, it is too early to be funny )

Ahhh...August

We have slipped into another month and I am afraid it is going to take wings and fly!  Yes, only four days into the month, but it will be Labor Day before we know it. Well....this post is a milestone...number 400!  I know my blogging has been lacking.  The past twelve months have been rough, trying and faith stretching.  Today Hubby started a new job.  He has been unemployed since mid-August 2014.  He taught an English class and did a bit of substitute teaching the second semester of the 2014/15 school year at the Christian academy that is a ministry of our church.  His new job...teaching at the Christian academy again!  He is not full-time, but is there for all but one class and homeroom!  It has been an answer to prayer. I want to share some cards that I  have been working on.  I have heard that I never take pictures of what I create!  That's not totally true, I do take pictures...most of the time.  Okay, s...

July Happenngs

What a month!  This July has flown by so quick.  It is hard to believe it is almost gone. While we did not get to vacation as a family, we kept busy.   The first full week our teens enjoyed six days at camp CoBeAc in Michigan.  Our youngest enjoyed five very full days at Camp Assurance in Illinois the second full week.  Last week two of our young adults enjoyed three days at Eljiah' s Harbor in Tennessee with the single adults from our church, while our oldest nester in the house enjoyed a full day canoeing and relaxing in the water in southern Indiana.  However, the swimmers ear afterwards was less than fun. Yesterday Hubby and four of our adult/young adult sons went to see the Manchester United soccer team play in Chicago.  They got home about 4 o'clock this morning.  Of course that means yours truly did not sleep well.  I was up about five times from 11:00 last night until 3:50 this morning.  I finally decided to stay up and get ...

Card Post

Back in February or so a friend asked me if I wanted to share a table with her at a craft fair.  She had never tried selling some of her paper goods and tea cup candle holders before and thought it would be fun.  So I decided to do it.  I had so many good intentions to get a "zillion" items crafted.  But you know the best laid plans NEVER go as planned.  I had so many things on my plate and ended up not getting as much crafted as I would have liked.    Below are some of the cards I created to sell.  I made at least four of each card.  The lemon card was one that I created for a friend, so this was the one and only of it.  All stamped images are Stampin' Up! stamps along with almost all the paper.  One or two scraps came from my scrap box that may have come from a big box store.    I also made a several tags.  However, I see only two are posted.  Not sure what happened to the others.  ...

Graduation

Is it really that time?  My days since mid-March have been a big blur.  It seems one day becomes another and soon I am unsure of what day it really is. Today though, is a very special day!  Son #5 graduates this evening. It seems so unreal!  There must be some mistake...I am sure yesterday he was in his crib, not preparing his speech for this evening. CONGRATULATIONS SON! WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU! MAY THE NEW ROAD YOU WALK FIND YOU WALKING IN THE FOOTPRINTS OF OUR SAVIOR, FOLLOWING HIM IN THE LIFE HE HAS  PLANNED OUT FOR YOU! Love, Daddy and Momma

Late Birthday Post

First Day of Spring and First Spring Birthday

Seasons come and seasons go.  With the changing of seasons some of us grow a year older!  Son-in-love #1 turned 29 yesterday.  He is the joy of Daughter #1's life and the father of Grandson E.  He has been a joy to us and is willing to help out however needed. WE LOVE YOU SON AND ARE PROUD TO HAVE YOU IN THE FAMILY. WE HOPE YOUR 29th BIRTHDAY WAS A  VERY SPECIAL DAY!!! Love, Daddy and Momma

How About a Give Away?!?!? {WE ARE EXTENDING THIS GIVE AWAY!}

GIVE AWAY NOW CLOSED   Since there was not a winner for this give away, I was asked to extend it for one more week, Saturday, March 21st to Friday, March 27th.  I will announce the winner on Saturday, March 28th.  The flexible' s are adorable.  They would make a wonderful gift for Easter, graduation and Mother's Day! I was recently asked by an Independent Lilla Rose Consultant if I would do a review for the Flexi Hair Clip.  Of course I could not resist.  We have used a couple of flexi's in the past and thought it would be fun to share the product.   I have seven daughters, six whom live at home.  The youngest three agreed to "model" the flexi.  I will apologize in advance for the pictures not being in order.  I don't know why my pictures keep jumping out of order.  I figure I must be doing something wrong, but every time I try to "fix" it I make it worse. Daughter # 6 has fairly thick...

Late Birthday Post

We celebrate only two birthdays in March in our family....so far.  I am a couple days late for this post.  My grace is Daughter #3 rarely, if ever reads my blog.  This time I am okay with that! Our first March celebration was Satday, March 7, as we celebrated Daughter #3's 20th birthday.  Where is time marching on to?  It really seems like yesterday we were bringing her home as our youngest!  She has blossomed into a beautiful young woman.  I am so very proud of her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAUGHTER #3! I HOPE YOU BIRTHDAY WAS AS SPECIAL AS YOU ARE! DADDY AND I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH! XO We now have a ten year old, a twenty year old, and a thirty year old....and almost every age in between!   As soon as I have a chance I will get birthday pictures posted!  It is such a busy household that I am trying to remember if I am coming or going!!!!!!

A Mile Marker Birthday

Okay, they have to come...mile markers.  There is no way to get around them on this road of life.  Today just so happens to be a mile marker birthday for our oldest son's, or does it sound nicer to say, "our first born's" thirtieth birthday. WOW, THIRTY!   Thirty years ago today, at 4:36 a.m., Son #1 came into this world weighing 9# 3 oz, and 21 inches long!  (I labored only 8 hours...my longest birth.) HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY SON! MAY YOUR DAY BE FILLED WITH LOVE AND ALL THINGS WONDERFUL! DADDY AND I ARE SO PROUD OF YOU AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH!  XO (To those of you that may have seen the post where I posted his birthday card a while back...he never did see it on-line)

Cards!!!!

I was able to pass some free time with making a few cards over the last couple of weeks. Hmm, I remember making this, but cannot remember who I made it for!  The stamp images are Stampin' Up! along with most of the paper. A couple of stamping buddies came over a couple of weeks ago.  We used this set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Everything is SU!.  The water coloring on the bird was with the water color crayons SU! use to carry. I made this for my card ministry.  I only needed 58 of these!  It is based off a card I made in card club a couple of years ago. I changed it up a bit so I could use my Post Card stamp and used the colors I had on hand. This card was made for Son #7's 12th birthday. I really debated what to make for him.  No longer a man, not quite a boy...but balloons just plan say "CELEBRATE!"  This card was made with SU! product. The green I believe is a retired color.

A Double Birthday

Son #7 and I share a birthday, 39 years apart!  Today we are celebrating the 12th birthday of Son #7!  My youngest man is growing up way to fast, I know, I always say that!  He is fun, sensitive, a prankster, and thinks outside of the box!  He keeps us on our toes since he is one of three children that think way deep!   HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON! YOU ARE A PRECIOUS SON AND WE ARE SO GLAD GOD GAVE YOU TO US!   LOVE, DADDY AND MOMMA   No cake for this young man!  His new favorite dessert is Arctic Blasters Orange Ice Cream bars.  His new collecting hobby is glass soda bottles.  He asked for IBC Cream Soda for his drink and Extreme Sour Warheads for his candy. His gift was a Nerf Zombie Strike.  Our family loves Nerf gun wars.  (He wanted a BB gun, but living in the city with a busy road behind us it did not seem like a good idea for an adventuresome young man.) (Sorry, no pictures of the birthday M...
