November 2016

Well, the past couple months have brought many things.  Son #5 turned 20 in October.  The twins, Son #6 and Daughter #4, turned 18 this month and hubby turned 60!  In October we sat through tournaments in soccer and volleyball.  Our boys varsity soccer team did not make it to the final game.  But they gave the number one team a run for their money.  Our girls varsity volleyball team are state champs!  They fought hard and it paid off!  I will try to upload some pictures of my sport players another day.  I have to figure out uploading/downloading my pictures from my phone to the computer.

{while trying to add birthday pictures they ended up in different places!  I so need to take a class on blogging!( for many reasons! )  bear with me for the order in how they appear!}

On a sad note, Daughter #2 moved to Georgia yesterday.  It was one she had been thinking on since August.  I was not surprised when she came home on Wednesday, the 16th, and said she was moving, but it was a shock that she was pulling out the next day.  She will be missed greatly.  But each child must spread their wings and fly.
Son #7 turned 13 in February
Just wish it was not so far away.
Daughter #2 turned 24 in September
May not be the most flattering pictures, but this pose goes
back to a joke and she knows it makes me smile!

Daughter #3 turned 21 in March.  (almost did not post this picture,
because she is no longer dating this young man.)

I have been busy with making a few cards.  As usual, some were mailed before I remembered to get a picture!  Usually those are the ones being popped into the mail.!

This was for a friend that was turning
an age somewhere between 53 to 56.  I know
how old he is, but for some reason
he tries to pretend he can't remember
his age!

This was for a dear friend I have not seen for
almost two years.  She is such a sweet heart!  I miss
her so much.

Birthday card for Son #6

Birthday card for Daughter #4
(she loves sea turtles)

Birthday card/box for Son #6.
This was not difficult to make, but
I forgot that I needed to write him
a birthday message!  So I made a quick tag to
attach to the "balloons".

I will try to do better at posting and picture taking.  All card were created using Stampin' Up! products-retired and current.  Some projects were ones I learned in club or an idea I had seen but used it as a jump for my own card.

  1. You are so creative! :) Also, what a lot of birthdays! That was no doubt a busy month. :) I'll pray for your daughter as she strikes out on her own. Even when we're happy for our kids, they will always have those heartstrings to tug on, won't they? Love and miss you guys!

My Mother's Gentle Love

My Mother's Gentle Love by Ron Hamilton Who puts a band-aid on my knee? Who holds me close so tenderly? Who always sees the best in me? There’s no one like mother. Who always wipes my tears away? Who tells me I’ll be great some day? Who cares in such a gentle way? There’s no one like mother. My mother’s gentle love, my mother’s gentle love Has taught me of God’s tender care, and turned my eyes above. I’ll bless her all my days for all her gentle ways. Oh, how I thank my Lord above for my mother’s gentle love. Today is my mother's viewing, and tomorrow is her funeral.  The song above so much describes my mom.  She loved her four children so very much!  Before she had children, she was a nurse for "special care" babies~~"old" term for NICU.  Once she started having children she gave  up her career to stay at home and raise her own babies. Thanks, Mom! Thank you, Daddy, for allowing Mom to stay at home and raise us four children! My mother and her mo

Life....

Busy.  That seems to describe life in our home.  Just day to day busy.  Nothing really noteworthy.  Life moves on.   Let me think, since I last posted.... well, let me back up to about a month before my last post.  Daughter #6 got married in October of 2022...today Son #7 got married.  So, I have gained another son and another daughter! Our youngest graduated from high school in May and our oldest grandchild graduated the following day!  From our oldest child to our youngest, we have 33 years of education. (I'm tired just thinking about it!!) Still only 13 grandchildren.  Hubby is still in education.  I keep things going on the home front.  I help out the families where and when needed.  I still make cards for the card ministry that I have been doing for 19 years.  I still crochet.   That about sums up life at this point.  Have a wonderful day!

Remembering Mom

Eleven years ago, today, my mom entered the gates of heaven.   My heart still breaks, hurts, and grieves.  But I know I will see her one day.  It seems like it has been a lifetime.  My youngest was only 6 1/2, now she is 17 1/2, a senior in high school and trying to choose between two colleges.  My oldest was 26 with young children and now is 37 and his crew is growing up too quickly!   My oldest grandchild was 6 and now is 17 and a senior in high school.  My youngest grandchild was only 6 weeks old and now is eleven.  Eight of my thirteen grandchildren have been born since that day.    Mom Mom's Viewing My children, taken about 6 weeks before  Mom died. I miss you, Mom!
