September Happenings

September is in full swing!  September 8, 2017, was Daughter #6, child #12, 16th birthday!!!!!!  She looks pretty amazing for being a 2# 9oz. preemie!!!

D#6 is the one on the end in the front row with the long hair.
(right side of picture, left side of picture?? I ALWAYS confuse those two when looking at something!!!!)

Daughter #7, child #14, the one on the opposite end in front row, broke her arm the middle of August at a youth activity.  She had just completed three days of school and was one week from her first volleyball game!  So she is missing out on volleyball, although her coach made her the manager.

Daughter #2, child #6, came home for a visit the middle of the month!  She lives down south.  We were able to spend her 25th birthday with her!  We had ALL of the family at our home for dinner!  We number 32!!!!!  My sister joined us as she is the kids second Mom, so she brings the count to thirty-three!

This is a picture of our 10 grands, plus Mammi and Pawpaw!  Grand #11 is due late November! We have 7 grandsons, soon-to-be 8, and 3 granddaughters!  I remember when our family was this little!  Seems like only yesterday.........

This is what we refer to as the "original 14" and then we break the up into two groups of the "older kids" and the "younger kids".  The older set are the first seven and the younger set is the last seven.  (usually in every picture of the original 14 someone is getting pinched as the picture is taken.....as you can guess, someone was pinched!)

Ahh!  The whole family!!!!!!!  Honestly, I do not think that we look like a big family!  Although, my little home feels the squeeze when we are all in the dining room and kitchen!!!!  But we make do!  (that is my sister in the green shirt next to my hubby in the beard)

It was a wonderful day being able to spend it with the ones we love most!  A treasure for sure!

My Mother's Gentle Love

My Mother's Gentle Love by Ron Hamilton Who puts a band-aid on my knee? Who holds me close so tenderly? Who always sees the best in me? There’s no one like mother. Who always wipes my tears away? Who tells me I’ll be great some day? Who cares in such a gentle way? There’s no one like mother. My mother’s gentle love, my mother’s gentle love Has taught me of God’s tender care, and turned my eyes above. I’ll bless her all my days for all her gentle ways. Oh, how I thank my Lord above for my mother’s gentle love. Today is my mother's viewing, and tomorrow is her funeral.  The song above so much describes my mom.  She loved her four children so very much!  Before she had children, she was a nurse for "special care" babies~~"old" term for NICU.  Once she started having children she gave  up her career to stay at home and raise her own babies. Thanks, Mom! Thank you, Daddy, for allowing Mom to stay at home and raise us four children! My mother and her mo...

Life....

Busy.  That seems to describe life in our home.  Just day to day busy.  Nothing really noteworthy.  Life moves on.   Let me think, since I last posted.... well, let me back up to about a month before my last post.  Daughter #6 got married in October of 2022...today Son #7 got married.  So, I have gained another son and another daughter! Our youngest graduated from high school in May and our oldest grandchild graduated the following day!  From our oldest child to our youngest, we have 33 years of education. (I'm tired just thinking about it!!) Still only 13 grandchildren.  Hubby is still in education.  I keep things going on the home front.  I help out the families where and when needed.  I still make cards for the card ministry that I have been doing for 19 years.  I still crochet.   That about sums up life at this point.  Have a wonderful day!
