Wow! I am so far behind in keeping up my blog! So much has happened since my last post. I have been keeping busy with family, ministry, and my hobby/ies!
An elderly friend of mine needed some extra attention and help. God has been so good to allow me to help her out and see to some of her needs.
My father, 89, fell towards the end of July. He was down about 3 hours before I found him. We are very blessed he was not seriously hurt, but did require a hospital stay and some rehab. Our second daughter has moved back to Indiana and is living with my father. What a God-send! We are so blessed that she was sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and moved home. Although we had many safety measures in place for my father, it only takes one little misstep. I am happy to say that he is much stronger than before! We have added a few more safety measures and our hope and prayer is to keep him living as independent as possible for as long as possible. We have a great support system that keeps him safe and happy. I am racking up the miles on my "new-to-me" car, but it is so much more fuel efficient than our 15 passenger van!
Daughter #5 left for college on Saturday morning, August 25. She is attending Bob Jones University, studying criminal justice. She is not the first of our nesters to fly to a different state, but it does not make it any easier. I really thought I was brave and was really not trying to cry until Sunday right before church ended. I not only cried but was sobbing! I keep reminding myself what my mother use to tell me, "God gave me children to grow them up and grow them out." The ONLY part she left out was just how hard the "growing them out" is! Guess it is a "mom-thing" that one has to experience.
My card ministry keeps me busy. I do enjoy creating and praying for those who I send cards to each month. I also have been trying to keep up my crocheting of hats for one of our local hospitals for the preemie and newborn babies. I have added a few blankets to give the hospital come fall.
I also have become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I have been using SU for almost 21 years. I finally decided the time was right to become a demonstrator. So I am keeping on my toes trying to be creative!
Not much else is going on. School has been in swing for three weeks and everyone seems to be thriving. Our grandchildren continue to grow and learn new things. Our youngest grand just figured out crawling!!!!
No pictures this time.....sorry....I have to download some.
Blessings for the day!
