I am thankful for the husband God has given me. After 27 years of marriage he is still my best friend. He has always worked hard to provide for our family, always putting his needs behind everyone else. I am thankful that he has a heart to follow God when it seems foolish to most others. I am thankful that he still loves me even though I have lost my "girlish" figure...if you see it, please tell it to return to it's original owner. :-)
We love history! Maybe because we are "old"! This spring/summer we bought two family passes, one to the Creation Museum, and one to our state museum. (Museums and a sack lunch are our "vacations"!) We were able to see the Creation Museum this spring. We had blast! We went through it twice! This summer we went to the State Museum to see the Abraham Lincoln exhibit. We saw a poster that advertised the Titanic exhibit for fall/winter! We were so excited! We planned yesterday to get all school work finished BEFORE lunch and spend the afternoon at the museum. The scholars worked extra hard and ate lunch quickly! The family arrives at the museum to find out they are no longer opened on Mondays!!! They were so disappointed. So hubby decides to take the family to see one of the historical sites downtown. Of course it was a "no-go" because of the price! So the family toured the downtown area for a while and returned home.
We re-planned our field trip to the State Museum for today. We even decided not to do classes and make the Titanic an all day history lesson! Well, unlike the Abraham Lincoln exhibit, the Titanic was $10 a head to walk through the exhibit! That would have been $110 for our family at the member's price! We had no idea that they would charge EXTRA for it! Needless to say we had 9 very disappointed children and 2 adults. We still had fun as we revisited the exhibits we saw last during the summer when the younger ones were tired. But we saw one exhibit we missed last time. It was a good day.
Bath time is over and it is time to get the teeth brushed and younger ones to bed! Ahhhhh! Less than 12 hours we will be sitting at the dining room table and desks working on another day of school!
