Bunny Card

Okay, I have a few friends that ALWAYS get onto me for not taking pictures of my cards and posting them.  I use Daughter #2 to do that for me, but sometimes I don't like to bother her, although for the record she is more than happy to do it for me.  But...she will be leaving for college in September, so I need to become a big girl and do it myself.  So I did! {with her camera}

These are the first two I made.
They are for two of my grandsons, yes, I on one of them?
Hey, they're cute!

And, here are the next three I made for my other two grandsons and yes,
the one in the middle WITH flowers for my granddaughter!

I was searching, and came across this adorable bunny.
I used the tutorial  As you can see
I changed it up to make it more "me".  I added the scalloped oval punch to the ears, giving the ears three layers.

I did not realize how "tall" the bunny ears were until I got them put together!  So, I had to come up with a new plan to get Bunny on the card and use the invitation size envelopes I have on hand.  In the end, it did not matter, because I sent each set in a bigger envelope so the cards all arrived on the same day!

I have made at least three more cards since, and I am sticking to the "portrait" card lay-out.   They are a bit time consuming, but so worth the effort!  {I did notice postage was a bit more than I expected.  The postal worker went to slip it through the "little" slot they use when measuring something bulky, and it did not go through...that might be because it has 3 or 4 pop-dots and the tied ribbon.}

[the cards were made using Stampin' Up! punches, cardstock, designer paper, brads {except the heart shaped one}, and inks]

My Mother's Gentle Love

My Mother's Gentle Love
by Ron Hamilton
Who puts a band-aid on my knee?
Who holds me close so tenderly?
Who always sees the best in me?
There’s no one like mother.

Who always wipes my tears away?
Who tells me I’ll be great some day?
Who cares in such a gentle way?
There’s no one like mother.

My mother’s gentle love, my mother’s gentle love
Has taught me of God’s tender care, and turned my eyes above.
I’ll bless her all my days for all her gentle ways.
Oh, how I thank my Lord above for my mother’s gentle love.

Today is my mother's viewing, and tomorrow is her funeral.  The song above so much describes my mom.  She loved her four children so very much!  Before she had children, she was a nurse for "special care" babies~~"old" term for NICU.  Once she started having children she gave up her career to stay at home and raise her own babies. Thanks, Mom!

Thank you, Daddy, for allowing Mom to stay at home and raise us four children!

Graduation 2017 Post

Finally, here are pictures from Son #6 and Daughter #5's graduation.  I finally figured out what I was doing wrong downloading pictures!!

A Couple of Pictures

I have a couple of pictures to share.  Here is a picture of our newest grandbaby!

Introducing "Mildred Millie Maude".  No, that is NOT her name.  Let's just say when Son #2 and Daughter-in-law #2 decided on a name, before she was born, I would refer to her by her name-to-be.  Not once did anyone ever correct me that I was pronouncing it wrong until about 5 days before she was born.  Dear Son asked me to repeat  her name, not once, not twice, but three times before I realized he was "making fun" of the way I was pronouncing the name. He is not the only one who poked fun at me.  I guess I put the emphasis on the wrong syllable!  So, this ol' Mammi decided to come up with a name until I can either take speech lessons and learn to pronounce it, or a nick name!  {just a side note, Son is NOT impressed with my "name" for her.  oh well, life goes on!}

Here is a picture of 8 of our nesters, and "guard" dog, Lucy.  This was taken last night, October…
