Busy Week!

Last week was a very busy week with our Vacation Bible School!  Five days of running hubby to and from work which meant  five more days of gas we usually do not use!  I worked in the kitchen this year for the first time instead of teaching.  Some thought my "talent" of teaching was wasted, and the kitchen was a "no brainer".  But the kitchen is a very busy place when trying to feed 150 plus people every evening.  Anyway, I had fun.  My feet, more so my right foot, hurt and it was hard to walk, but God gave grace to my back and it did not hurt once!!!  That was a real blessing!

Sunday was all day at church.  Not only was it the closing program for our VBS, but we also celebrated our pastor's 20th anniversary at the church.  We had a HUGE pitch-in dinner on grounds and a special program.  My hubby and I helped in the kitchen ALL day.  There were a total of seven adults that made sure the food did not run out and kept everything in order.  Very busy and very tiring!

Saturday was spent stamping and putting together cards with a very dear friend!  She has a convention she is going to next week and several of us got together to help her out.

Monday was spent at Son #3's home for a 4th of July cook out.  Very fun!  Son's #2, 3, and 4 played "good guy vs. bad guy" with all the children who still live in the nest!!  I surely thought the upstairs was going to cave in with all the running!!!  They, the big "boys", decided they needed Nerf guns for the next time!  I guess besides jammies for Christmas I know what to buy all the offspring and grandchildren.

Tuesday a friend from church came over for lunch and she designed a card for her son's first birthday party!  So we punched, stamped, and assembled the cards.  She likes turtles and we used punches to create them!  {pictures?...uh, who takes pictures of the cards that are created??}

That same evening I had a Stampin Up! workshop!  The new catalog was available July 1, and I always have the first workshop with my demonstrator!  Let's see, I had 12 confirmed women coming, 15 showed up, 18 young people {18 years and under} and 3 grown men!  Counting the demonstrator that made a total of 37!!!!!!  By 8:30 everyone, except those that live in this crazy nest we call home were gone.  Oh, by the way, Hubby was at work during all this!  He came home only on the tail end of the last 2 or 3 people leaving!  But it was so much fun!

Tonight I will be stamping again!  I have a stamp club I go to once a month to get the creative juices flowing!!!!  This time it is not here and there are only 9 {adults!!!} counting our demonstrator.

Oh!  Daughter #1 and hubby went to the doctor last week and the nurse thinks she heard two heartbeats!  They were in two different places, one was 175 steady, and the other was lower at a steady 166!  So, we will wait and see what the doctor says.  Daughter #1 is in the Army and they have their own agenda with the appointments!

  1. I had a great time - both in the very full household, as well as last evening in My Ink Pad! You are the greatest hostess EVER! :-) I do, however, wish you would get your act together and take pics of your creations!

My Mother's Gentle Love

My Mother's Gentle Love by Ron Hamilton Who puts a band-aid on my knee? Who holds me close so tenderly? Who always sees the best in me? There’s no one like mother. Who always wipes my tears away? Who tells me I’ll be great some day? Who cares in such a gentle way? There’s no one like mother. My mother’s gentle love, my mother’s gentle love Has taught me of God’s tender care, and turned my eyes above. I’ll bless her all my days for all her gentle ways. Oh, how I thank my Lord above for my mother’s gentle love. Today is my mother's viewing, and tomorrow is her funeral.  The song above so much describes my mom.  She loved her four children so very much!  Before she had children, she was a nurse for "special care" babies~~"old" term for NICU.  Once she started having children she gave  up her career to stay at home and raise her own babies. Thanks, Mom! Thank you, Daddy, for allowing Mom to stay at home and raise us four children! My mother and her mo

Life....

Busy.  That seems to describe life in our home.  Just day to day busy.  Nothing really noteworthy.  Life moves on.   Let me think, since I last posted.... well, let me back up to about a month before my last post.  Daughter #6 got married in October of 2022...today Son #7 got married.  So, I have gained another son and another daughter! Our youngest graduated from high school in May and our oldest grandchild graduated the following day!  From our oldest child to our youngest, we have 33 years of education. (I'm tired just thinking about it!!) Still only 13 grandchildren.  Hubby is still in education.  I keep things going on the home front.  I help out the families where and when needed.  I still make cards for the card ministry that I have been doing for 19 years.  I still crochet.   That about sums up life at this point.  Have a wonderful day!

Remembering Mom

  Eleven years ago, today, my mom entered the gates of heaven.   My heart still breaks, hurts, and grieves.  But I know I will see her one day.  It seems like it has been a lifetime.  My youngest was only 6 1/2, now she is 17 1/2, a senior in high school and trying to choose between two colleges.  My oldest was 26 with young children and now is 37 and his crew is growing up too quickly!   My oldest grandchild was 6 and now is 17 and a senior in high school.  My youngest grandchild was only 6 weeks old and now is eleven.  Eight of my thirteen grandchildren have been born since that day.    Mom Mom's Viewing My children, taken about 6 weeks before  Mom died. I miss you, Mom!
