That's right, our little family has grown...again! Grandbaby #9, Grandson U, arrived today at 11:16 this morning weighing in at 9 pounds 10 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long! Mighty big man! He is Son #2 for Son and Daughter-in-love #3, and little brother to Grandson K. Mama and Babe are doing well despite the hiccups in the road. "Little" man is in NICU and will be there probably until tomorrow. He had some breathing and oxygen issues they are trying to straighten out.
As of yesterday, the hospitals in our county are not allowing visitors under the age of 18 in the hospital because of the flu, and the maternity unit is only allowing parents and grandparents. Needless to say there are some very disappointed aunts and uncles, not to mention our Daughter-in-love who can not see Grandson K until she is released for the hospital on Friday.
I tired posting some pictures we took from Hubby's birthday mid-November. I don't know what happened, but as I posted pictures they moved and my writing was all over the place! I will try again...
Life is full of bumps in the road. Sometimes those bumps can become burdensome. Sometimes those burdens become very heavy and drain one spiritually. That is where we found our selves this summer. Our spiritual cups were not running over, as a matter of fact they were starting to dry. But God, Who knows exactly what we need, had a plan for refilling.
Since the beginning of August, God has taught us many great lessons. It started by taking a month break from the ministering Hubby was doing at our church. We were in need of having our spiritual cups refilled, so we took the month to attend a church Hubby ministered in over 14 year ago. God is good, He knew exactly what we needed to hear in sermons. Hubby lost his job the middle of August. God knew our hearts needed mending and cups needed refilling to accept His plan.
We returned to our home church excited to see what God was going to do and how He would use us. But within a few weeks we realized that God nudging us.....no that's not right, um, prodding us....poking us.....to do some closer examining of what He really wanted to do in our lives. After much prayer and some counseling during September - November we knew we needed to move our membership back to the church we attended in August. That meant leaving friends who were like family. It meant our teens were being uprooted from their friends in the youth group. It meant I was being moved out of my comfort zone! "Lord, really?" "Yes, trust Me", was the reply.
Hubby was in charge of two ministries that he wanted to finish up through this month, but once again God had other plans. At first I was a little hurt and even angry about Hubby not being able to finish the ministries. As I silently poured my heart out to God, He reminded me that He was wanting us to make a move and though we were willing to finish up the ministries He had a better plan. So I knew that God was not nudging, prodding, or poking us...He was PUSHING us! I was reminded of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
So this week has been a week of many blessings; we joined a "new" church, received a new grandbaby, and finish our first semester of school tomorrow.
What does God have in store for us? I don't know. We are still unemployed, nothing even on the horizon, but that is okay. "I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holdsmy our hand."
