AHH! Week-end!!!

Can't believe it is Friday!  Yes! Week-end!!!  Tonight was youth night.  My hubby and I had the honor of helping get the teen meal ready tonight.  It was fun!  Fed just a few more mouths than I cook for at home, so it wasn't too bad.  We had nachos with all the toppings!

Today was a normal day with the ususal, getting up and eating breakfast, getting ready for school, etc.  It was actually cold this morning, in the low 30's!  The family has been complaining for days that it is cold.  I actually got cold during the night!  So I finally gave in and turned on the heat this morning.  It was a mad dash for the vents!  The younger ones love to sit or stand on the vents in the morning.  They are almost as bad as the Golden Retrievers we had.  They, the Goldens, were vent hogs!  Didn't matter if it was cold or hot outside, they claimed the vents!!!!  I sure miss those dogs!

I'd like to say a quick thank you to a couple of my "editors".  It seems my two oldest daughters have a good time finding my spelling errors.  I really do use spell check!  Anyway, thank you dear daughters!  And just in case my darling sons have found errors, thank you also!  Guess they think it's their turn to "grade" Momma's writings!!!!

God has been so good to our family.  He has answered some pretty big prayers that have needed to be answered.  He is always on time and always keeps us amazed!  I can not think of walking through life without my God and Savior.  I do not know how people handle their problems, pains and disappointments without Him.  What about you?  Do you know Him?  Not just about Him, but do you know Him personally?  The gospel of John is a good place to start.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

My Mother's Gentle Love

My Mother's Gentle Love
by Ron Hamilton
Who puts a band-aid on my knee?
Who holds me close so tenderly?
Who always sees the best in me?
There’s no one like mother.

Who always wipes my tears away?
Who tells me I’ll be great some day?
Who cares in such a gentle way?
There’s no one like mother.

My mother’s gentle love, my mother’s gentle love
Has taught me of God’s tender care, and turned my eyes above.
I’ll bless her all my days for all her gentle ways.
Oh, how I thank my Lord above for my mother’s gentle love.

Today is my mother's viewing, and tomorrow is her funeral.  The song above so much describes my mom.  She loved her four children so very much!  Before she had children, she was a nurse for "special care" babies~~"old" term for NICU.  Once she started having children she gave up her career to stay at home and raise her own babies. Thanks, Mom!

Thank you, Daddy, for allowing Mom to stay at home and raise us four children!

Sad Turned Happy

Six years ago today my family's heart was broken by the death of my mother.  Today turned happy because Grandbaby number 11 was born!  Grandson W was born at 12:38 pm, weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces, and 22 1/2 inches long!  Daughter #1 and babe are doing well!!!!!
